Shoreham College is once again organising the annual Downs Link Challenge in aid of Chestnut Tree House – the children’s hospice for Sussex. Last year they raised a phenomenal £9,000 which went towards providing care for over 170 children and young adults who have life-limiting illnesses in Sussex. This year they hope to raise even more and with the help of The Towers School who are joining them in this year’s challenge - the sky really is the limit! This year, Chestnut Tree House celebrates its 5th birthday and what better way to way to mark the occasion than by supporting the work they do. It costs approximately £2 million per year to provide this much-needed service. Families are never charged for the care they receive. Chestnut Tree House receives hardly any government funding and so relies almost entirely on the generosity of the people of Sussex. The hospice is not yet running at full capacity and the charity’s aim over the next three years is to reach out to every child and family in Sussex who needs this special care.
